Need an alternator for a 172, which ones fit!

Chuffing alternator just shat itself so need one asap.

Do either of the 2 options on eurocar parts fit a 172 with ac or am I going to have the same issue I had trying to get their handbrake cables to fit?

Having had a little read and from past experience the RTX ones are no good.

Are lucas any better? Or is it a genuine only job?

Even the ones Renault sell are refurbs but it doesn't say what brand.

Renault are Valeo they only keep the parts that dont wear out like the casing etc.

euro own the name lucas so lottery as to what may be in the box. for the extra go with reno one.

My RTX one failed after a year. Replaced with a Renault one and it’s hunky dory

They were pretty crap when fitted to BL`s Large Car Division product in the 1970`s.
