need help brake problem

i have a 52 plate clio sport...my hand brake cable snapped, so got new one on etc but now there is nothing happening on the brake caliper im getting nothing under braking and nothing with the hand brake either...tried bleeding the brake and for some reason im getting no fluid through.

Is there a secret to bleeding the brake or is it just broke altogether.
