Just wondering who in here mk.1 or mk.2 i dont mind has had Banging under acceleration and when it occured (how many miles) and whether your dealer has fixed it etc.



Mk.1 172 2001 at about 2000 miles and was fixed at SMC Woking

If it bangs on wheel spinning or in the wet under hard acceleration mine does it too. possible loose engine mounts

yeah its the mount beneath the battery......

i span mine in the wet this week and it sounded like that. ive had the clonking fixed by having a new mount, the one on the left as you look at the engine.
