NEW ABS LAW..... affect the resale value

Do u lot think that this new law where every new car built has to have ABS will affect the resale value of the Cup?

It was just I was thinking of swapping mine with a mates Cup.....??

im sure some cars will be exempt from it still, if they can proove that the brakes are amazin and the tyres too.

No it wont affect the cup, as its designed to perform without it.

Other cars will be affected when the law comes into place

I doubt it will effect the resell value tbh.

Why would you swap a 172 for a cup, theyre the same car and the only difference youll notice is a lack of creature comforts.

if he wants to swap then its his choice, perhaps he likes the colour/wheels etc

I imagine the rule will apply to mass produced cars. Those that undergo small production numbers tend to get more relaxed regs re noise and pollution dont they?

Wont affect resale values. Willy 1s/2s and valvers dont sell for less cos they dont have airbags.

yeh i agree with mike, i think that theyll b allowed to produce some "special" cars (like the cup/bm csls ect) which give u the raw driving pleasure hehe

See, I read that differently.

I instantly thought "Oh, The Cup will be worth more!"

If people dont like/want ABS.. the only sensible way is to buy a car without it.. and I reckon the Cup will sell better?

Heh.

People like TVR and noble will be exempt.

(Under 400 units per annum)

Sadly no more Non abs specials like the cup will exist, as the clio is mass produced.

Yeah thats as I understood it Tom. Not a model itself being small numbers but the whole range. ie clios are mass produced so would not be exempt.

You just worded it better.;)

Fair point mate. There will be people who wont want ABS, but it will be a very small minority. Not enough to affect re-sale value anyway, imho.

Maybe. But using that logic any car not fitted with abs will be worth more.

My old mk1 golf Gti for instance? £30,000 to you.

I imagine most people looking for a used Cup will be driving enthusiasts and so would probably not be that fussed about whether a car has ABS or not.
