Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 5 GSR

R Registration 1998

First Registered in Japan – 10/03/1998

MOT - 02/08/2019

Former UK Keepers- 1

1 key 2 laserline alarm fobs

Mileage as of 26/02/2019 – 146,070KM (indicated)

Advertised for a regrettable sale is my 1998 Mitsubishi Evolution v (5). The car was imported from Japan by Goodwood sports cars/AK automotive in Berwick upon Tweed in late 2015 (139,572km). Prior to me collecting the car the car was fully checked over and serviced including having the AYC pump refurbished.

I’ve owned the car from February 2016.

The car has a mixture of Km’s and miles.

The car originally had 139,572km and had the clocks converted to run in MPH @ 140,091 = 86,856 miles. The car currently shows 146,070 km = 93,535 Miles.

In my ownership I have carried out a few modifications but always wanted to keep the standard clean look of the car, I’ve had the side skirts, rear bumper and spoiler centre repainted.I’ve replaced a lot of the interior plastics so there are no holes or horrible boost gauges. Exterior wise I’ve replaced numerous badges and stickers with genuine items via Mitsubishi. The car is overall a very clean example both exterior and underneath. There is 1 small ding that could be removed with PDR. I have pictured this best I could. In my ownership the car has always been garaged.

There is some wear on the seats and the gear knob, but the bolsters have no sagging and hold you very tight. The driver’s side seat sits on a modified sub frame to sit you lower in the car.

Overall this is a very clean example of what is set to be a classic car in years to come. The impending loss of my storage has forced my hand to part ways with the car. The clutch and flywheel have just been upgraded to a larger (7-9) type, the clutch had started to slip and I wanted to have this replaced for my own peace of mind and for any prospective buyers. Along with having the geometry set up for ‘fast road’ use at the same time of the clutch change I believe the car is perfect and ready to go.

I’m sure there are things I have missed, please contact me with any questions you may have, I work long hours but views can be arranged for any interested parties at evenings and weekends.

Well it’s gone, sold it 30th May. Nice guy travelled from Blyth Newcastle for it after we went back and forth for a few days over WhatsApp.

I’m not regretting it as of yet, I did have an awful feeling watching it drive away.

The lads kept in touch and so far had it MOT’d, underside painted, new manifold and some more silicone hoses.

A few pics from the day it left and from the new owner.

ToyoSports manifold?? What the f**k is that guy thinking??

I hope he didn't use those donkey manifold gaskets either, they'll be blowing like made inside 50 miles.

That’s a shame, it looks like the new owner is going to town on the blue stuff ??‍♂️

It’s not being built to my taste tbh. But he’s spending money on some future proofing by doing the underside first.

May as well keep this up to date. Chris the lad that bought off me sends me regular updates. He’s swapped the wheels, not A huge fan.

Wtaf! Even if you don't know what an Evo is, why would you ever do that?

I though it was perfect as it was, but each to their own. I’m glad he’s keeping it nice, it’s still dry stored.

He’s taken some lovely period forged lightweight wheels off, and fitted some heavy cast fakes. I don’t get it.
I asked him the same thing on FB because i didnt get it. Especially when his excuse was he wants to take it on track. Yeah, fit heavy wheels lol

It's a bit weird for the new owner to have been keeping you updated.. like you'd not want your ex's new boyfriend to update you each time he'd given her a good seeing to

Haha, I've never thought of it like that. When I sold my Uno Turbo the new owner kept in touch for years after.

I still find it unacceptable for a grown man to refer to a car as a 'she'.

Also he posts a long and rambling explanation of the car, claims he can't put up "all information" and manages to include almost zero information on the spec.

Too much to list BrUv PM mE.

Hate that, i managed to type it all out, he could have just added to my ad.

This is costing me way more than I anticipated, I can’t deal with the rawness, my girlfriend hates it.
[/subtext]

Quite possibly. Will be interesting to see what he replaces it with.

Does seem like a very quick turn around between buying and selling it. Could be that he thought all the costs with Evos were 'other people's cars' and that his would be different? ;)
