Thank god i have my new 197. Truely a modern hothatch that makes the 182 look like a puppy with its head caved in.

I was getting so fed up with how brash, crude, noisy, uncomfortable my old 182 was. I drove one at the weekend and it really showed me what a blunt tool it is. Those seats!!!! lol how i managed i do not know. that gruff old engine. ekk!

I couldn't imagine how bad a 70k 172 chav chariot must be!

A bit blunt, but I can see what you are getting at seb. Every time I get into my 2001 RSi it feels like a brand new car compaired to what I was used to driving around in before so I imagine the 'new car' effect of a 2007 car for you feels similar to the feeling I get stepping foot in a 2001 model.

  ST on the way...
Lol @ tom

If it had a Meggy 225 engine i'd agree with you Sebastien, but untill that happens I won't :)

still a good old french mobile . lol

rattles , creakes , breakages , unlimited warrenty work , etc etc etc etc .

so yeah you got a good one there seb . :rasp:

Wait for the Cup I'd say. Gay little things like no Xenons/HID's as standard spoil the 197 a bit

I actually agree with you. Even though I was only in a 197 for 20 mins, when I got back into my 172 it really felt like a bucket of s**t. So cheap, nasty and dated, poor seats, gruff engine, crappy pedals. :dapprove: I've wanted a new car ever since. :dapprove:

Just a shame the 197 doesn't feel remotely fast until 7k rpm.

A happy Troll. And so you should be, the 197 is superb, and IMO a much nicer place to be on the road.

Even though you are just messing, it's true. The Trophy being so stiff is a real ball ache some days when you just aren't in the mood. That's the price you pay for driving the greatest hot hatch ever built though. lol

never driven a trophy, shame really as i would have liked to see what it was like compared to my 182 with cup chassis.

the thing with my 197 is it jsut makes you drive it hard. it just toally changes character when you 'push on'. f**king love it.

however the average of 22mpg over 4 retrun trips to work ain't good lol

I almost ordered an F1 the other day, but with that sort of mpg it would run me dry the amount of miles I do. Had I not just bought a house I would have been okay, but I've got to watch my pennies now if I still want to do track days and shows.

the 22mpg was from driving very hard tbh lee with a bit of cruising.

with my run down to kent at circa 75-80 with a bit at 50-60 due to roadworks etc i was getting 33mpg.

normally over a tankful of commute and town work i'd get 29-30mpg.

seems to be getting better with milage. as when i first had it i was doing 26 on a tank. now on 6k and def getting better.

The other thing that put me off the F1 was the price!! I want to see another 30% F & F deal as I had on the 182. lol I could stretch to a 197 but not the F1 at the moment. With F & F the F1 was the same price as a standard 197.

Mine is averaging 33mpg at the moment for my commute.

yeah F1 is too much money imo.

the cup seems to be priced quite well though.

Yes but they are s**t.

Oh and 197's need longer gearing, then i MIGHT consider liking it.

yep, re your edit, the 197 does need a longer 6th. the only thing i would change and it is the only thing that gets my goat a bit.
