new clio 172 owner

Deposits down on my clio 172, and I’m quite happy about it. Just got to sell my coupe 20VT now, that’s going to be fun!

Would like to know if you lot think this is a good deal? The clio’s a 2001 (Y) with all the normal extras plus a 6 disc, and a Clifford cat 1 alarm. Its done 21000 miles, with full service history, price, £6900. what you think?

Chears,

Phill.:)

I know my local Renault dealer bangs out 2001 Ys with 20 - 25k for £8995, thats why I bought a mk2 03 plate for 10k which is still expensive, but I got a very good p/ex price.

So £6900 sounds like a bargain for such low mileage & FSH, personally i prefer the front end of the mk1s but I wanted warranty etc.

think u did pretty well there mate. i got my mk2 (51 plate) for 6900, but it had more miles on the clock - 32,000, but still have a warrenty till feb :D finding a good deal is really hard. i spent AGES looking for mine. i think a lot of people who sell em on are expecting a bit too much!

that sounds good, i thought it was to good to be true, but i thinks is stright! lets hope so. dont pick it up untill weds. the engine felt real tight, so i think it needs a few more miles untill its opended up a bit. we will see.

Nice one phill, just gotta get ya membership now bud, then ya can put a club sticker in it :)

There are bargains out there dont worry, make sure you HPI it and have a good look round it, in the boot under carpet for crash damage etc, or take a knowlegable mate. Brake discs and edges of tyres should be an indication of whether its been driven too hard.

BUT im sure its fine just a good realistic price as mikey said. Ive had about ten cars (im only 23) a 1.2 16v clio is the only car that lasted past a year before I got bored, and i only sold that as it lacked the power i wanted, hence the move to a 172 (which is probably just as economical as the 1.2)

Enjoy

Membership is done, just paypaled it and got some stickers to go on it. Will miss the coupe, but this is gonig to be a fun car.

I did give it a look over, i.e. boot area and breaks, and all seems good. I know cars well so i will be well pissed with myself if i missed something!
