New engine fitted, renault advice...

Just got my new engine in under warranty and renault have politely reminded me to not go over 2k revs for the first 1000 miles to run the engine in. Is this really necessary? It feels like an absolute slug by the way, sure its a 1ltr theyve dumped in LOL

pottering around at 2K will do more harm than good

the simple explanation is you have to put the engine under load so that the piston rings "seal" to the bores properly

dont rag it as such, just drive up some big hills in 2/3rd with you foot planted from a slow speed

vary the revs and load
