new Head unit Help!!

  H22A7 Accord Type R

Ok, i am currently running an old Sony MDX-c7950 head unit, 4 x 35w etc etc. I am seriously thinking about upgrading now, and was going to go for an MP3 cd player, but as i have so many minidiscs, i will probably stick to it, otherwise i would never use them!

I could do with some opinions on the following.............

Pioneer MEH-p5000 minidisc.......how do people find Pioneer units??

Sony MDX-CA790x minidisc.........would let me use my stalk display adapter

and for an MP3 - Sony CDX-MP40.........if i go MP3?

can any of you guys offer any advice? Basically i think my old 35 x 4 sony unit can be upgraded to give me much better sound quality?!

Cheers, Rob

dunno really............cheap n cheerfull.........£150ish (some of the above can be found for a good price)

for an extra c£35 you can get the Pioneer DEH-P5500MP (cd unit), which is a lot lot better than the 3 models above, but still for the money limit you have set the pioneer 5000 is the better of the 3

But mate whats the point? the "upgrade" would be pointless.

The sound quality difference would be unoticable.

Save up and get a Naka HU

the original sony unit is complete bone, any of the 3 will be a worthy and noticable upgrade, agree with you about the Nak HU, but the topic is not about the best unit

of the above 3 units you mentioned the pioneer is the better unit

go for the Clarion DXZ938R

brilliant headunit... lots of outpts... has 4x53W also...

has inbuilt CD, CD-RW compatible... not mp3 ill point out though... also has pro logic II built in which can make 5.1 music!!!! can create a center speaker from ur front left and right speakers.... must be good with the Xbox hooked up! (its not a screen headunit)
