new shape 1.4 16v or 1.2 tce

My mate is looking at getting a car and is trying to decide between the two.

The 1.4 16v is on a early 56 plate, 15k on clock and 1 owner priced at 6k, which he could get for 5.5k.

The tce is an 08 plate 8k on clock and priced at just under 8k and would probably get it for around £7500.

what would be the better option as i see it as a simple remap for the tce and hes onto a winner and probably better mpg figures aswell.

ive got the new shape clio 1.2 16v im goin 2 look at a twingo gt 2morrow thats the 1.2 tce and dose more mpg then my car i have now

Forgot to state, its the clio TCE and 1.4 16v that was phased out by the TCE

How old is he? I'd pick which ever one is cheaper to insure.

Both are coming around the same price insurance wise so not a massive problem (hes got the money anyway)

1.2 tce is a much better engine than the 1.4

1.4 had proper problems hence why Renault no longer have any n/a 1.4s in production.

better running costs, tax and the fact you can make them a wee bit quicker also.
