'New' wheels

Thanks to Alex I fitted a set of the Mag Alloy F1 Cups that Yoz + Fred were selling a while ago. Worked out to be only a few quid more than buying an old set and getting them refurbed and they look alright :)

The garage put some chrome valves in which look ok but I'm not a fan of the bulbous valve caps they stuck on so will be putting some normal ones on again soon.

Before shots...

And After....

Naff pics but will do some better ones when the car's cleaner. Now need to decide what to do with the old ones :)

same wheels? just cleaner?

Pretty much, refurbed and powdercoated. The before pics aren't really showing up the kerbing on them.

They were by no means bad and actually clean up quite nicely, but I was just getting really fussy about stuff so thought a refurbed set would be nice.

Theres hardly any difference in weight tbh and wouldn't have thought these were too soft at all.

i hope you like dodging potholes!

John's right too, they are softer

some teams changed from the mags to less exotic rims as they kept bending on rumble-strips iirc

magnesium ALLOY, not pure magnesium! behave!

I'd be worried if they are pure magnesium, I remember science classes in big school :p

At the end of the day they look a lot tidier as they don't have any kerbing or corrosion. Will see how they go but I could always get my old set refurbed and keep these for track use :) But atm they are staying, and once I get my new steering wheel on I'll be pretty happy with it :)
