Yeah well i probably will mate tbh I just dont like the idea of buying a game for an outdated console thats going to be dead and buried in 18 months. Pissing me off properly the whole focus about TV. Really pissing me off that its like I know we'll replace smart tv's with an xbox......

I hope PS4 is a damned site more game focussed and if it is Ill be jumping ship to Sony - as I really enjoyed having free PSN.

I have put a deposit on an xbox one but sure game would be happy to swap my deposit to a ps4 if I desired.

PSN isn't free anymore I believe?

Within 18/24 months the next GTA will be out for One anyway, it wouldn't surprise me if its already in development for the One.
 
Yeah GTA is an unfair shout. They put years into the games.

Cod etc can be slightly different as the engines can be similar. Hence releasing ones very quickly.

Each GTA is almost like a whole new game opposed to some maps and guns being changed.

What's the next one gonna be called? Xbox Two? Even though it would be the fourth. Xbox One Two. WTF.

Yeah and tbh I really appreciate that. COD is VERY samey - same for the NFS series and tbh I might just keep my 360 for a couple more years based on what I have already seen.

I agree completely the name is linked to it being an "all in one" system. Its a load of s**t. I much prefer the rumored name "xbox infinity" much cooler
 
Ahh ok then. Just from experience and work a hard wired connection is always the best but that is dependent on so many levels of appliances and other wireless devices in the range of each device.

See thats interesting because im having the opposite affect, I have a 120gb slim ps3 and a slim 360 (limited halo reach edition) and the PS3 is much better for wifi signal and the two are side by side.

I do have an idea to keep it hardwired, but will see how it works out, it was already hardwired about 10ft, but needs to be another 5ft now.

I remember years ago when my mate was living with his parents, and he wanted to hardwire it to the box, in the living room directly below his room. We drilled a hole in the external wall, ran it outside and back into a newly drilled hole into the living room. F*ck knows what we were thinking but we were youngish. I told him to tape it to the other wires that were outside, but he couldn't be bothered and it was the most obvious thing ever, his mom came home and realised within about 30 seconds and went nuts.

Mine is the older/fat 80GB PS3, so the wifi is probably improved in yours

Just use some home plugs if you can't get a cable to it.

I'm still rolling a 20GB Model, with the first WiFi dongle, don't have any problems. Bar one, Storage. I've been waiting on the new XBOX for about 18months now. Seriously cannot wait to get my hands on one.

Just being able to install games will be a dream.

FYI I have 100MB left :(

On current ones, could you literally install, say...COD or Fifa into the Xbox and never have to ***** around with the discs?

God I don't use things to their potential lol!

Nah, you still need to have the disc in. Saves the drive and disc though.
 
Still need the disc. I install all my games as the noise the Xbox makes without one is phenomenal, it's near silent with a game installed.

It does install the full game, disc is just needed to prove you have it.

When all the COD discs were getting fucked up my brother installed somebody else's copy and just used his disc as it still new he had the game to play it.
 
Ah I get it. I certainly think I'll have to explore more of the potential of the new XBO

Slim XBox is a lot quieter anyway, with the game on the HDD it's virtually silent
 
That will be the problem buying the launch XBO though, I imagine they will iron out quite a few problems/noises/rattles whatever with the updated version however long after but oh well!
 
Kinect is "in the box" so at £399 i dont think its too bad, cheaper than an entry lever iPad:

I would say that's much more likely the price point they'll be aiming for, much more and they price themselves out of the market and it becomes less appealing/impulsive to purchase one!
 
interesting article on the whole xbox1 vs. ps4, it is predicted that the ps4 will be 50% more powerful for gaming, due to the route MS took to make the xbox more of an entertainment device, MS might be trailing a bit this time around......

what i found interesting was that its using 2 virtual machines inside to do all the multitasking between gaming and tv etc, so its a virtualised pc running a hypervisor.

Running a customised version of Hyper-V, pretty interesting.

Seems unlikely. It took Rockstar North 3 years to get their heads around the 360/PS3. They don't knock them out every year like most 'franchises' these days, and they're much better because of it.
