Newbie - Kent

Morning Guys, first time posting on the board and first clio just bought.
Picked up at Clio 182 FF Black/Gold and its done just over 71k. Primary use for track days at Brands. Its all standard spec under the bonnet but has a Scorpion back box which sounds awesome.
Belts have all been done a few months back which is going to save a few ££, got a nice squeal on the steering when stationery though. Looks like it might be low on PSF.
Going to take her down to Brands in the next few weeks and then will no doubt be adding uprated brakes and Michelin PS3 all round.
Will post up some pics once shes had a clean.
Cheers guys

Had another look at the steering squeal and fairly sure the tensioner is rubbing against the aux belt. Got it booked into a renault specialist in tonbridge, hopefully just a new belt and reset the tensioner.
Finally got the car up on a trolley jack and axle stands at the weekend, the sill jack points have seen better days so had to make do with the chassis rail.
The car still has the original headlight washers but discovered tonight the hoses have been pulled so will be deleting and replacing with blanking covers.
Restored the headlights tonight using the 3m restoration kit, looks much cleaner. Going to attack the bodywork next, get a nice shine back from the black gold paint job.
Oil change next week then new discs and pads then track her at brands to see how it handles.

So the 182 went to the garage this morning to diagnose the steering squeal and intermittent PAS.
As i originally suspected the tensioner is rubbing on the aux belt, whoever replaced the belts earlier this year didnt align or retension correctly. Luckily the car hasnt been driven much or it could have been alot worse. £82 for a new belt and labour. Should have the car back for the weekend which means oil change (elf evo 900 5w40) and upper engine & rear exhaust bushing change for powerflex black. Couple of pics of the exhaust bushings. Also the exhaust, which is hanging ridiculously low.

Hi Tookers.Just got an old 172 myself, looking to track at Brands but no experience other than a couple novice 20 min sesssions
Other than a good clean, oil and filter, and antifreeze, next up is brakes for me
Think they are standard atm other than goodridge hoses, so interested in what brakes you sort
Fluid change, maybe discs and pads as well as the dreaded reluctor ring for me
Meet up at Brands early next year then :)
Based in Hove, Sussex, me.

Hi mate, welcome!
What colours your 182? Any mods on it?
Sounds good mate! I was hoping to get to Brands this year, hopefully if I can get cam belt & tracking done I'll try and squeeze a day at the end of the month.
I left my rear brakes standard and put Brembo HC discs & CL RC5+ pads up front, great stopping power!
We'll have to sort a track day next year!

Mines standard silver :-( however, plans afoot next year to half wrap it royal or torquise blue, maybe plastidip
Then wheels powdercoated same,or plastidipped to test the colour out (Non standard multispoke wheels on mine BLACK)
Love Brands, pretty much closest to me other than Goodwood
Checking my discs out, the front look way bigger than rear (Is that standard) and they look fairly unused- so will give them a spin on track first see how they go. Will be checking pads et all at weekend with wheels off (Obvs)

Mods-Coilovers front not checked them yet, lowering springs with adjustable bases on rear.
Front brace strut fiited- looks new
ASH Silicone hoses/ Decent induction kit cone filter
Non standard wheels- not sussed what they are yet, but look ok
HID Headlights
Steering wheel swapped out for a sports job (Wish they hadnt)
KTEC stealth s/steel cat back exhaust, with mid res. (Nice noise)

Not bad for a cheapo.... lets see how it goes. Plans: Not certain yet.

Deffo meet up sometime soon for a spin round Brands- see some days are £99 only atm
However, mine need oil/filter change (Weekend) brake fluid change, suspension checked out, reluctor ring sorted and a good clean/ machine polish. LOL

If i could get mine ready in time.... prefer a 20 min novice slot to start the Clio off with
Might tell me what needs doing

Not averse to a half day, but its the suspension thats gonna cause me most thinking time i reckon
Need it to stick to the road, and steering nice and firm
