Thought I would start a project for my new car. This is my 4th clio but first Renaultsport, Some of you may remember my other clio's

My first 1.2 8v

Then i swapped that for a 1.2 16v 182Rep (only owned for a week)

Then my mapped dCi80

But now i've moved up in the world. Saw this 172cup for sale on the forum (its been on the forum for a few years with different owners now) and noticed he was local. So went to view it and put a deposit down.

Since owning it a full day, I've already fitted my omp boss and dished wheel, Ph1 stalk and Kenwood headunit
This weekend I've to fit my Whiteline RAB, xenons tempted to fit my Gloss black Oz f1s as well.

Other than keeping it clean, tiding up the engine bay. There isn't many Big plans until later on in the year, Where ill be looking into new seats and a cage.
But alot of track days are on the cards. Think i'm at Cadwell park on the 30th april as it's only down the road.

Sprayed my whiteline as it was looking a bit sorry for its self.
Fitted that and realised my backbox was shinny under all the dirt so gave it a quick polish.

Added a few things already but got plenty more on the way.
Decided to give it a good clean and a small quick detail.

And one with my dads 172

Got a 197 rear badge on the way and an aluminium foot rest, Thanks to M.A.D on here.

Picked up a powder coated fuel rail guard and engine mount and a new header tank this weekend of Batsey got them fitted. And fitted my xenons of the dci.
Also removed front fogs, carbon canister and acoustic valve as it was still behind the bumper. Also removed back half of the interior and seat belts.

Some new pads and discs up front this week as well. Brembo HC and ds2500 pads and a fresh fluid.
Then a cage will be ordered and interior will be sprayed monidal blue. Then start saving for some bimarcos or similar
Then Cadwell on the 30th hopefully

Looks stunning that mate, I'm normally a fan of OEM silver turinis on cups but yours looks great like that. Ride height is spot on too.

At a guess from looking at the engine spec, about 175 maybe.

''Apparently'' it had 185 i'm rather unsure but I will get it on the dyno soon but anything over standard and ill be happy tbh.
She goes and sounds well and i'm happy with the power for now. I'm sure ill be on the look out for bodies or something in the future

Absolutely no chance of 195 with no mods. Need Bodies, RS2 or maybe 438s if you have one freak of an engine.

Fully agree I know people running boddies and cams and are only just pushing 195.

Few new bits added.

Foot rest cover and RS 187/200 rear badge and an engine cover.

Rear badge not fitted yet.
I do have a fuel rail guard I just need 3 bolts as these are all snapped
Will be spraying the inlet and engine cover when weather is nicer.

Rear badge finally fitted! and De-wiperd

New number plate light, bit of a difference

Had to remove engine cover as it was vibrating on the strut brace so going to cut a small part of the cover off so it fits nicely.

Managed to get engine cover to fit nicely with the brace.
Getting some Brembo HC discs and Ferodo Ds2500 pads fitted this week and a de cat


Also a couple of shots from the weekend seeing as the weather was nice.

Yeah definitely, it sounds awesome. Ill get a video of mine this afternoon.

Video of the induction sound. Little louder inside the car as I have stripped the rear.
Will get one up when my de cat finally arrives, if it does.

Nothing has changed much, I finished painting the boot and rear seat area and gave it a good clean.

De-cat and new tyres all round soon or possibly new wheels, want some 2118s. Have two sets to swap for some if anyone is interested?

​So yesterday was my first time on track, Safe to say I have the bug and I loved it!
The car was spot on other than being a little to low and was scraping badly on right hand bends also tyres got hot (it was 28deg outside)
