Not detailing, painting engine bits

I'm swapping the engine in my car in a few days and wanted to paint up a few things as I go. Planned on using hammerite for the box and engine enamel for the block.

Two questions
What's best for the rest of the mounts/inlets etc.
How best to prep them as halfords paint wipes don't cut the mustard

You can't go wrong with the Hammerite paint. I did a set of calipers using it. Filed/sanded/degreased then away you go. 3 coats and 24 hours later and they were spot on

What's a good degreaser to use. Last time I used brake cleaner and then had problems with the paint adhering properly.

I just used an APC (all purpose cleaner)
