O/S drive shaft

I read a lot that if inner gaiter fails you have to change the whole shaft. I find that a bit far fetched as it's a lot of money for a split rubber.
Just seen on car euro parts a replacement inner gaiter for o\s drive shaft for 7 odd pound. So gna give it ago

Its clipped on the inside due to how close it runs to the engine block.

So the retaining clip you attach to hold the boot on will rip off.

oh got ya, yea I seen how close they are I might angle grind the lug away from engine block
