OBD 2 Port cover/flap - Question

Just a quick question! I was cleaning my interior today and took the cup holder part out to clean it properly, I noticed the flap wasnt closed on the port so I closed it but noticed 2 prongs on the inside of the cap, almost like it makes a circuit when closed... I was just wondering what this was for out of curiosity?

No circuit on mine. I even removed the cap to relocate the port.

I mean 2 metal prongs on the inside of the cap which enter the obd port when closed, just wondering what it's ment for.

I guess it will just be to locate the cap properly.
