oil from engine

  Renault Sport clio 1

I have a 95 1.4rt with about 83000 miles on it.

I was driving round for about 10mins (dropping my lazy brother off at work) And when i got back home there was a type of smoke almost like steam coming from under my bonnet?????

I had a look and it was coming from my dipstick bit?

My oil is quite low and was going to change this weekend. is this the reason this happen or is it something different?

Help me please!!!

oh i foggot about that?

If i put more coolent in to keep the engine cooler it will solve the problem aha!!

Correct?

hmm smoke coming from dipstick can be a sign of excessive crankcase pressure either caused by blocked breathers or piston ring blow past (which is usually bad) check breathers and do a compression test, then do another compression test with a little engine oil poured into spark plug hole before second test. If compression is low and its much better on second test with oil down the bores then rings or bore is worn. But at that mileage it shouldnt be, unless u drove about loads with low oil. Check levels and breathers and keep an eye on it, not sure if that helps u
