Re: Oil Pressure and Oil Temperature
The first link you posted with the hose has no sealing face on it resulting in oil chasing down and leaking out the threads under pressure as there metric.
As for the second one (the rectangular block) its a better one to use.
The reason for it is you can place a copper sealing washer (known as a Dowty Washer- which can be found on eay or a local hydraulics source) against the face of it to seal on the engine block the same as the standard oil pressure light/switch sensor.
Its the one i had and i had my 1/8" Npt Male Oil pressure and temp sender screwed into the side and my standard oil pressure light/switch sensor screwed into the end of it.
I'll try and fit better pics if i have on my laptop as i never updated my oil fittings thread with my findings.
Failing that i'll get some pics up tomorrow of what i used.
I removed my t piece from the block and am using the standard oil pressure light/switch sensor again as the threads on my engine block were not liking the trial and removal of M14 fittings all the ime and were getting rough.
I was worried i damage them completely = BIG BUCKS........
I forgot to say a sump plug with a hole to suit you oil temp sender aint a bad idea as long as the sensor wires back to the car asre well protected from the elements in a conduit or protection of some sort.
The only problem i found with this idea is nobody could answer to me the threads on the sumps plug and my local Renault stealer was useless.
I didn't fancy dumping fresh oil at the time to find it out.
