Oil Question For a 172 Sport

  Sport 172
Afternoon all,

Needing to ask a question.

After reading a few of the posts on this forum I came to the conclusion that using 10 40 oil in mi car would be ok. Car is a Clio Sport 172.

Now a friend of mine buys for his car the 10 40 oil that Vauxhall sell. He gets this really cheap and has said I can have a 4.5 litre for free. He uses it in his 2.0 16V redtop.

I'm planning on doing an oil change this Saturday. Question is would this oil be ok to use in my car?? I asked him if their would be a difference between it being from Vauxhall and he doesn't seem to think there would be.

Any thoughts would be great.

thanks

Yep it will be ok, look to change it around 5-6,000 miles.

If you want to go down the quality route then 5w-40 synthetic changed every 8-10,000 miles.

Cheers

Guy.

That Vauxhall oils good and the prices you can get it for on trade superb.

Used on track and it cooks just like any cheapish oil though.
