Just got car back from dealers after latest bit of warranty work. it'd developed a very loud metallic rattle just as it passed 3k revs, then disappeared again. I suspected a loose heatshield (that's what it sounded like).
Garage report says it was "injector cover loose".
1/ What part is the injector cover?
2/ Is it feasible that it could've been loose?
3/ Should something like this come loose without any outside "assistance"? i.e. could've it been off at some point in the past and not been reattached properly?
Service dept was closed by the time I got there so nobody there to ask!
I've nicked the pic of an engine bay (hope the owner doesn't mind) if someone wouldn't mind pointing it out.
