omex clubman discussion.

  RB 182 cup
Ive been looking at an Omex clubman rev limiter/launch control for the clio.

http://omextechnology.co.uk/page136.html

I dont need it, but figured the launch control would probably be fun in a chav carpark kinda way.:nono:
Has anyone on here wired one onto a clio 172/182 before and if so, i was wondering where you placed the button, where you hid the box and also how tricky you found wiring it in.

Ive seen loads fitted to saxo/106/zetec s but they have all just been used to make 'pops and bangs' and wired in over the wing and through the door type ways.

Thanks, matt.

RS Tuners do launch control, just buy one put the 98 RON map on and the launch control map then sell it, no needs for box's or wires n only takes 5 mins to do.

FYI launch control is a waste of time btw

I need to learn more about these RStuners, and yeah i know, its just for a giggle as they do sound cool, plus the omex has a hard cut limiter i would be able to set where i wanted.

He's not saying lower it. He's saying instead of fuel cut, he wants it spark cut, so it goes bang bang bang on the limiter.

Launch control is for people who can't control their right foot ;)

It means i could set it lower, to like 6,000rpm. It doesnt happen often, but friends borrow my car or my dad etc, would give me some peace of mine as i know the engines dont like serious rev abuse and i cant prove it but am certain they will be driving it stupidly.
Just set it 100rpm below the standard and you would never notice. Shouldnt be revving that high anyway.

If you don't trust them not to 'abuse' it - don't let them borrow it at all...

The factory rev limits are safe enough assuming reasonable precautions are taken.

Its just another factor i can take into account when thinking about buying one. It is really, (and i will get branded a chav for this and would like to point out i'm not) Just because they sound cool and are a bit of fun. I only own the 172 because it is fun!
