Opinions on V6 clio.

as i stand at the moment, ive got 12k saved up, im 21 in 13 months. that... for me is enough time to save up enough money to buy oen new, would you recomend buying one? and if so, new or second hand.

i will admint, there is somthing about a new car :) but no doubt second hand will be less expensive.

just wondering what everyone elses opinions on this car is? And any one who got/had one, are/were you please with it? etc etc

Very pleased with mine.

No real problems.

A bit low for speed ramps.

Large turning circle as well.

All the best

John V6

yes buy one

stunning cars, not the most blistering performance but they will out handle most other cars on the road

will you get insured on one at 21???

2nd hand is the only place you will get one in a decent time, the mk2s have got an order list going through til at least september/october

Bambam, make that till the end of the year now! Ivej ust heard a snippet of info through the grape vine and to be honest im not surprised. The delivery date on the mk1 v6 went back and back, nice to see Renault sticking to form!

RXE-Matt, there great. As Bambam says not the hottest kid on the block but the handling (in the dry is good) and the braking, well forget all the other mere mortals, you leave it so late you wouldnt belive it!

If I was you save hard and get the new mk2 if you can afford it, if not theres plenty of decent mk1s out there for sale, including mine!

i was gonna save up for a deposit on my own house, but i thought naa sod that, get a decent car first. im in the process of de-modding my 1.6 8v at the mo, cos i aint declaired um, but if i did.. it woulkd void my insurance, cos they wouldnt cover me, but im like 5 months in to my policy, so it would make sense to take it back to pretty much standard, and sit on it for 7 months.

but then i thought, well hell... if im gonna do that, i might as well wait a few more and get a proper car when im 21, cos my policy is re-newd in feb, if i wat till the feb after im 21 (birthday in august), then "hopefully" ill have 4 years ncb ) which will help. and i dont think the insurance would be a problem really.

considering, my first years insurance was 1800 quid on a 1.8 16v zetec mondeo, then it went up to 2200, not even i know why, then the same year, which was htis year, they (the AA) tryed to charge me a furtur 200 quid more, so i changed to norwhich union direct, that costs me 1600 FC with 2 years ncb. which aint bad really. i dontthink so any way.

so im giving it about 20 months till i have my 4 years ncb, and im 21, and :D hell v6.

whats the difference between the old and the new model? i prefer the looks of the old one tho, with the rounded lights, i hate the pointy ones.

To quote a friend of mine who has a new V6.

"Cant say I notice much difference really, but it looks fantastic"

So if your not too keen on the new look V6 get what you can afford and have fun.

not always about postcode m8, it helps, yes it is a contributing factor, but quite can depends on a lot of things. i got a quote for 1.7k on a celica gt-4 turbo twin entry, sadly the car got wiped out before i could purchase it :(

some nova driver got in front of my m8 who was sellin it, and slammed on, well... when ur in a nice big motor like that, u cant stop as quick as somthin like that. b******s

but just as a side note, stay away from the AA, the prices are crap, the service is crap, etc etc, they wanted 10k fully comp on the gt 4, it was only worth 3.4k, norwhich union (the ones im with now) said not till im 25, etc etc it all varys, :) ill get a nice cheap quote for about 2k whick ill be fine with :)

ill get a quote closer the time.

Nar the MK2 in that Blue looks the business!!

though if I were gonna spend 27K....Id be looking more towards the EVO, I know the V6 is possibly one of the most stunning cars on the road...but 27K mmmmmm.

Evo magazine rated the V6 above the Evo in a recent test. Im a big Mitsi Evo fan, but Id go for the V6, just because of the rareity factor.

  2012 WRX Waggon

what was it rated higher on, I though the EVO was one the best motors otr.

I think the V6 is defo the better looking car, but 27 grand!!!, thats twice the price of a 172.

And a porshe 911 turbo is 7 times more expensive but you dont get seven times the speed handling and rarety over a 172 either but a V6, be honest, how many of them have you seen on the road?!?

Thats because its twice the car.:D

Theres a video kicking around of some guy spanking a Mk1 V6 in France I think. Try to find the video, and listen to the fabulous sound that engine makes. Then go and drive one and I defy you -not- to want one!!! It might not be any quicker that a 172 but it looks and sounds sooooo much better. Totally impractical but who cares - you only live once!

Dunno Guys, I agree the V6 looks the dogs, and to be honest I have NEVER seen one on the road - Ive heard the V6 clips and it sounds fantastic.

its the bloody price tag....and brand new evo is only 28?

21 yr old on a grp 20 car is gonna be slightly ridiculous. I reckon youd regret buying it after a while.

For all that money u could make the fastest 172 to date, seriously.

Why dont you go for a 172 or a cup, which to be honest neither is that much slower than the V6, and use the cash you have saved on mods. Maybe a nice paint kjob to make you stand out from the crowd??

  Clio v6

Speed isnt everything. If you like the V6 buy one. If the v6 only did 80 mph I would still buy one.

0 - 60 is really only used for machoistic ego trips against dim wit little boys. It makes them believe they have bigger willys and therefore better than the next guy.

Its your cash. If your really into speed then save up your pennies and buy a real sportscar.

3 cheers for nice looking little Clio v6s.

There absolute heaps! Wouldnt touch one with a bargepole!!!!!!!!!!

Actually I think there the best Renault Car ever produced, I wish I could afford one and run it as I was quoted £850 insurance fully comp (37yrs old)

I drove a V6 at last weekend and WOW!!! Yes please!!!

I would love one as a sunday car, but to have one as a day to day car would be restricting!!!

I wouldnt ever leave it in a car park......just spend my life driving round and round........never going shopping or giving lifts ever again..................must buy one!!!!!! ;)

GET ONE!!!!!!they are the dogs,f?>k the evos and scoobys, fast ok but they look like sh*t.Ive had my mk1 for 8 months and i love it,orderd the mk2,cant wait to get it.You can get a mint mk1 for 17500,so go on be a devil and get that cash spent.

I have hinted at my other half about a V6 as it is my birthday on Monday, and he did say that if I could get £9,500 for my 172 then he would get me one!

What do you think I could get for my car? It has done 4,500 miles and was new in January 2002. No marks on it anywhere.

The problem would be parking a V6. I am paranoid about leaving my 172 anywhere and I never park less than a foot more than a doors width away from anyone, or at the end of a row if poss, so leaving a V6 would horrify me.

Hubby thinks I should just get an older car to stop my parking paranoia. Its just that there are so many idiots about in car parks, but so far I have been lucky not to get any dinks anywhere.

how old r ya ???????????????????????????????????????? - buy mine - ive got 2 a 52 reg & an x reg (very cheap)

How old do I have to be? What are you doing with two V6 Clios?

How cheap is cheap?

You will probably have raced yours. Where are you? The one I have seen has 3 miles on it!
