pads wont fit in caliper with disc URGENT

hello everyone bought some valver calipers and k-tecs fast road discs and pads, everything fits, but the new beefy pads do not allow for room for the new discs,,

do i sand them down or ??

very confused

please help, my car is on axle stands!

You have to push the piston in. Its hard but press really hard on the piston and itll slide in enough to allow the pads in.

Try using a small G clamp to get the piston back....

take the cap off your brake fluid reservoir, this should help when you push the piston in

The piston needs to be turned/screwed to get it to move back.

all done,, pedal travel is immense! bad!!

do i need to bleed the brakes now ???

Pedal travel would normally be long with the first press, but should be ok after that

about 3 pedals later the brake should return to normal pressure.

it hasnt!! the pedal travel is huge and the brakes will not come on quick at all

Check you havnt loosened the bleed screw at the back.

ALso check you have enough brake fluid in the reservoir.

if you have put new calipers on then they will need bleeding

the screw on the bleed nipple is rounded off, this gets better and better!!
