May be a slightly weird question but here goes...

My 197 has a couple of patches on the boot that have lacquer peel. Is It possible to get the lacquer patches repaired, or am I looking at getting the whole boot painte.

Im pretty sure I know what the answer is, but just booked in to have the gearbox rebuilt so trying to save a bit of coin

Nope. It’s a complete panel job and depending on the colour it’s advisable to get it blended.

It's only a lower half in the 197 so will be cheaper, no blending required at a decent bodyshop.

Usually just leads to more issues if they don't know what they're doing.
