Painting a Ph1 172 plenum cover

  Car SOLD :-(
I'm wanting to paint and get polished my spare 172 plenum cover before I get Ben @ Angelworks to wave his magic wand over it.

Has anyone painted theirs at home successfully?
Presume it'll have to be very high temp paint (does it need primer?). What have you all used? I'd like a smooth gloss black finish. Then going to get the four inlet pipes professionally polished along with the "renault sport" words.

Any help would be great.

Cheers

Thanks Makavelli. 'Want that one!!'
May extend the black a bit further tho.

Was gonna get Ben to fit it so it was right, hence painting it first:(

it will probably be fine matey

my only concern would be spending ages painting it only to find it chipped or scratched after being matched!

ben is a top bloke and does top notch work so it should be ok

Was gonna post it ahead, then when it was ready drive down.
Yes, it's miles from the grim North.
Fred says he could fit it, still pretty far. Is the anything to be gained by getting Ben or Fred to fit it?? Cheers

no really no mate, i did mine myself
i did it slow and steady and it took about 2 hours
i would do it yourself and save the drive personally
the peeps on here (myself including) will happily guide you thru the process of fitting it
