PAS route question (Ph1 172)

  Sunflower Ph1 172
Engine has been ripped out of the sunflower in the past few months, and finally putting everything together. Annoyingly as it's taken a while we've forgotten what route the PAS line takes over the gearbox. There looks like there should be somewhere that the line should bolt to the gearbox, or somewhere on the engine, however we can't see where exactly. Anyone who has refit 172s have any ideas?

Sorry for the poor pictures, but just to give you an idea.. Anyone with pics of the correct route would be helpful.

I think it's routed more on the passenger side near the chassis rail. Not 100% sure though as i binned the PAS on my car and don't remember exactly.

That bit needs to go the other side of the clutch fork and it bolts into the plate that that front lower mount attaches too.

You'll then have a similar looking fixing which mounts on the side of the box close to where the thick earth strap goes. You'll want to fix that in before you put the battery tray in.

Thanks, will have a look at it tomorrow.

It goes under the gearbox mount casting. Its a royal pain in the f**king arse to fit that pipe. There is a tab on it that bolts to the end of the gearbox casing (where the end cap is bolted on), thats a right fiddliy b*****d to fit.

You need to jack the engine up, removed the gearbox tray, mount and triangular casting then go from there.

No it's not, the one above in his photo shows the one near the clutch fork when gets bolted to number 24 in this diagram on the left hand side of it, you can even see the bolt hole on the drawing :)

Then as Laine said another goes under the battery tray but you wont get that there until the first is done.
