And time for another update.
Noticed for a couple of month a slight coolant smell sometimes, but nothing in the floor of the garage, nothing on the engine oil, but i could smell it from time to time, but could not find the leak . Put the coolant system on pressure, and nothing. No pressure drop. Could not figure it out .
Since i had some free time, decided to remove the interior, and look what i found...
There it is my coolant leak. The heater core said enough is enough after 23 years. Since i had the colossal work of removing all the interior and dash, decide to perform some modifications that were in the back of my mind for several months (more on that later).

And during assembly decided to remove the seat spacers. Massive difference. You seat way lower than before.

The steering wheel went to refurbishment in the meantime, and turned out exactly like i wanted it!

Yes they did. I supplied a door card so they could get a proper suede that would match it and the seats !

Time for a small update
A friend of mine had a set of original stickers laying around. I think this were the Clio 3 rs ones? Either way, better that the wrinkled and faded stock ones.
In the meantime, a classic French car show was organized by ACP (The oldest auto clube in Portugal).

In the meantime, one thing that was starting to want some attention was the rear exhaust bush. Decided to give the Grams sold by Kamracing a go.
The kind guys at DHL charged 15€ for present it to the customs (a process witch i do myself in any order from the uk, but when it´s shipped trought DHL i have no other choice than pay it). After the customs taxes added this mount came in a total of 80€!!!
Installing it was piece of cake
The original was showing some wear but not as bad as some i have seen over here

Great product. No increase in NHV.
In the meantime took the car to a small track that we have around here , about 1200 M. Small but very cool to drive on it . Went with some friend just to have some fun.
When arriving there started to rain. It´s almost impossible to have rain in Portugal in August, but here we are

The Clio performed really well. The track was really greasy, used the Nankang NS2R with 2.2 cold front, 2.2 cold rear. After 5/6 laps they started to overheat, went to the pits and the fronts were 2.8 and rears 2.3. Aired down the fronts to 2.2 hot, and the rear to 2.2 hot and kept lapping all afternoon.
In the end the Clio done about 50/55 laps. That is about 60 Km of track. Not much, but always fun.
Here is a small video from outside when you can hear the Clio chasing a good friend of mine in his 2.0 ND.

Managed to do some laps in the A110 also. About 25/30 Laps.

@Filipe Dias Make sure you cable tie your Grams mount to the metal, mine fell out so had to cable tie it in on each side. <ine has been fine since.

Imho, the only drawback is that the seat has some resistance moving forward/reverse due to the rails touching slighty on the carpet. For me is not a issue.

Last update of the year. .
Decided to remove the locking pins of my Sachs. Due to the state of the roads in my area (Worse and worse every year despite the tax always being higher year by year) i decided to turn the damping down a little bit.

Everything cleaned, lubed and ready to install
Then went for a big drive, and settled with -4 clicks face to stock. It´s perfect for these road right now .

Time for a update on the Clio
Since the beginning of the year the Clio has- not moved a lot, we had about 3 months of raining almost no stop, and the will to get the Clio dirty is very little, so i has been stored in the garage. Last week, went for a small drive and all is good as before.
The major update, is regarding the new engine.
Two years ago i got my hands on a good condition (Super low mileage) F4R 730 and bought it with the intention to rebuild in Oem + fashion like the rest of the car. And as we speak, the engine is ready. Just need to install the timing belt, accessories and the lot.
So the spec is regarding the engine block is :
- F4R 730 Block & Crank , the block was measured and was in great condition withing the Renault values
- Clio 3 RS Pistons and rings, with standard ring gap values
- Clio 2 RS rods (Lighter than the Clio 3 RS ones) machined to received ACL Race Rod bearings
- Machined main caps to received ACL Race Main Bearings
- Arp rod bolts
- New Oil Pump
- New Oil Injectors
- New seals everywhere
Regarding the Head :
- Clio 3 Rs Camshafts with custom timing
- New valve guides and fully rebuilt and Ported Head
- Clio 3 RS Intake & exhaust valves
- Supertech Valve Springs
- New Lifters
And everything brand new regarding the engine.

Now , to install this on the car i need a intake manifold.
