Pic Request (Underside Of 2001 Clio 1.4 16v)

  Up rocks
I need a pic of the underneath of a 2001 Clio 1.4 16v. Strange i know, but a girl i'm seeing's exhaust has dropped down a bit causing it to blow on the flexi joiner bit according to a local garage (havnt had a chance to get under ther eand have a look myself yet). They say she has a bracket or somthing missing but they arent sure what it is or where it goes?!! So i need to compare the underside of hers with another one to see whats missing so she can order it.

Its one of these for reference (not actual one)

Before anyone says get under there and bodge/weld something in place, shes really picky about her car, wont let anyone touch it for some reason. She just wants the right part ordered and fitted. (crazy i know)

Cheers in advance :)

Not much cop if you can't get under and have a gander, can understand the pickyness i'd be the same. Theres only two mounts on the exhaust, one in the middle just after the centre silencer and one at the back.

Give me a minute i'll scan the haynes manual in.

edit: They don't show them! just off picture!

Thanks for that mate, at least now i know theres only supposed to be two mounts :). Garage said they can see that it looks like a bracket is missing causing the exhaust to drop and stress out the flexi joiner. I'm guessing the rear mount must still be in place as the exhaust would be bouncing around on the rear beam, so its possible the front mount has broke off maybe. Will have to persuede her to let me have a look under the car.

Quite possibly, especially with age as they perish like fook. Shouldn't be anything expensive if your doing it yourself, middle mount is £7, rear is £20.

Good stuff, cheers dude. Will have look under there tomorrow at work.

the bracket they are on about (i would imagine) is one in the middle of the car, there is a mount on the chassis right above the middle of the center section that is not used on the lesser models only has the corrosponding mount on the exhuast for the sports

may be confusing it with that

I did wonder if it was an un used bracket they were referring to. If that is the case i'll have to look under there and try and work out why the exhaust has dropped then.
