Picked up my mates 172 cup yesterday!

Yeah we drove down to newcastle from aberdeen and back yesterday, got a straight swap for his megane.. think the guy needed a family car.. anyways, it has a straight through exhaust, decat and open induction kit.. and my god it doesnt half shift!!

the 5th gear pull is immense!! do these cars get quicker as they get the miles on? his has done 47,000 and mine has done 6,000.. the difference is quite noticable, unless its just the loud exhaust making me think we're going faster?

They're supposed to loosen up nicely at about 30k IIRC.

yeah they defo do get quicker with the miles.

aye they do quicken as they get more miles on. the exhaust and decat will make a diference but only slight

i have got a decat on mine, and a ITG panel filter.. going to get a cat back put on for the sound aswell, and might lower it.. not that they will help performance, but want it to sound nice..

it might just be my imagination when hearing the exhaust, but it seems to be quicker?!

they'll help the response and flow of the power when i put my cat back and decat on mine i noticed a difference. ask craig172 after we fitted my decat.

my cup responded to my semi open hillpower seriously well im thinking of decat also then remap. as it is my cup as with all cups fitted with the cheapest interior i have ever seen its just poverty but it shifts like a mofo a lot faster in truth than my last MKII172 fullfat

two feeds, ones the OEM feed in same place ones a custom striagh pipe from bumper with no twists and a proper intake boot.

a video of the sound of it. apparantley having a sports exhaust makes the kit louder, if i did the exhaust properly then just like the kit it would be inaudable from inside when normal / fair driving on good tarmac there is zero induction noise unless you press on hard so i really like it.

Well yeh, but you were driving the top of the range clio thats why it was faster... the 182's arent that far behind and a decent alternative really if you think about it...

172 Cups are defo different beasts. Faster and the handling is much more lively and engaging, wish i had one TBH.
