Picking up 172 tomorrow!

Well the A3 is now sold and im picking up my new toy tomorrow - a mint black '01 ph1 172. 1 lady owner from new, 38k (17k on engine due to warrenty issue + engine replacement) totally standard+unabused+bargin! Cant wait, im so excited im like a 5 yr old kid lol

oh well just thought i'd share my excitment.

now where can i find myself some 16" OZ F1 Cups, a stainless exhaust and some coilies?

yeah will do but like i said its totally standard atm. However i've fallen in love with that black ph1 for sale on here at the moment, so im thinking of doing the same with the larger standard wheels and a ph2 rear bumper with a nice exhaust slotted into the rear bumper. I guess its goiung to need dropping slightly too.

Future plans will be some cams+ a remap but i'll have to see how funds go. Seems a good oppertunity to spend some money on engine tuning as the mileage is so low.

Just rang the garage to tell them im on my way to collect it and have just been told its not ready yet. Basically it was pulling to the left so they said they'd yet it sorted but the 'mechanics been busy' so ive got to wait till tomorrow.

Now this is where u do some demanding!!

Tell them that u have took time out of work because of this, and have losted a days work. U want a full tank of fuel putting in!!

Or ask for a Full Valet on the car. Or something else that may spring to mind :lolup:

Not sure, initially thought it ws the tracking however this has been sorted and its still pulling. Past experiences have found AA / RAC car inspections a wast of time ie only picking up on the really obvious things that someone with a decent car knowledge would have found anyway. Plus the car is from a supposedly reputable garage hence why they have agreed to sort it and will not let me have the car until it is.

Picked it up finally last night and OMFG what a car! i love it! A hell of a lot quicker and agile than my old valver thats for sure! On the way back had a bit of a tango with my mates fiat coupe 20v turbo and there was no difference up to about 70mph which was suprising (thought he'd cane me!)

yeah, go up past storthes, turn right at the top of the road and follow it round for half a mile and you come to a fairly long straight before that nasty steep left hand turn (which is fun if you know it). I took them there on the left.
