Heres my cup splitter, as you can see i kind of broke it a little lol

Following on from my thread about my suspension clunk,took a look at it today and found the shocker was like this. is this a problem?

Cant higher my car as cant turn the height adjusters, they are a bit stuck.


Purchased a new cup splitter because of the above, think i got a dodgy one. Its the wrong shape, should i be like this and i have to try bend it?, or should i be asking for it to be swapped?

What does that mean?

Could this be the cause of the clunking noise then? Maybe the shock isnt returning and its causing the spring to come out of its seat?

Looks a bit too small to me mate , it might snap if you try and bend it to fit . I'd get in touch with whoever you bought it off and get it swapped .

I would not try to fit that to my car as it will snap imho but its your money so up to you

These splitter that look the wrong shape has anyone measured one with a tape measure from end to end? and done the same with a known good one?

If they are just the wrong shape may be worth applying some heat to it and seeing if they change shape.

Not being funny but the splitter should just line up with the bumper and fit on with no extra hassle, thats how they come from reno and K-Tec.

With regards to the comment Ben made about the wheels, you bought them off Blobby didn't you ?? have they got a part number on ?? if they have I can check it against mine if you need me to as I bought mine direct from reno.

They arnt rubbing on the shock, its just where i started to clean it up, but then quit. They are defo trophy wheels, or they would rub on the arches if they were cup wheels due to the lowness.

I have pm'd the guy about the splitter, but still waiting for a reply.

So whats the deal with the suspension? is it broken?

Just sent him the picture of maz's to show they sometimes do make them the wrong size

vinny on a ph1 they fit quite easily just need to saw an inch off each end but ive had 2 splitters on my RS-1 now and both splitters have been quite flexible.

The one i got is very flexible, i might get the heat gun out on it to see if i can persuade it a little at the corners

I agree 100% with you maz, so i am trying to get 'bitsrus' to replace it, but dont look like im having much luck

I had the same problem with Blobby he would not let me post it to him (I am in Warrington he was in NE somewhere) so I couldn't have my money back, I still have the f*cking piece of s**t here .. grrrrrrrrrrrrrr so annoying

At the end of the day he has sold you a part that is not correct, unless he is prepped to say in writing that he will give you your money back if it snaps when yo try to fit it I would be kicking off.

I aint got a clue about your suspension, sorry, try dropping Fred a pm ??

Check the part numbers on your new one & your old one.

8200248910 is what mine says as i have just removed it from my car.

If you place a tape measure across your bumper where it's closest to the wheels & then bend the splitter to that measurment they look spot on?????
The bumper flairs out to the wheels so less of an angle.

Will let you know at weekend when i try & fit mine.

But as far as i can see the part i have has the same number as my original one.
Even says (spoiler frt c3)
