Picture or diagram of standard exhaust system - To compare to Kwik Fit exhaust

Does anyone have one? I'm trying to find out if there should be a little pipe section after the cat, before the next silencer. Kwik fit told me there shouldn't be and made my buy a new silencer section even though mine was fine, purely because their cat wouldn't fit my silencer.

So if anyone has a picture or diagram it would be much appreciated!

On a 182 the cat is joined with 1 pipe that has the silencer on it, then that is joined with the backbox(es).

On a serious note, the only join on the standard exhaust is exhaust -> cat, some aftermarket have 2 joins - I think with the cat -> silencer and then -> backbox.
