Plennum Polishing!

Hey all,

I've seen loads of pics of peoples engine bays on here where they have polished the top of the plennum, and the inlet pipes leading to the cylinders.

How is this acheived? Is it a replacement plennum, or is there a specific way of polishing the casing to bring the shine out?
