Poll for LARGE wheeled clios

those who have large, wide wheels fitted to ur cars, have u found this has put a lot of extra strain on the engine mounts?

Your comments appreciated.

  172 Cup

i had 18s on my valver, didnt think that it put any strain on the mounts but it does on the wheel bearings and power steering and also slows the car down.

No problems with 17"s, but my gearbox mount went loose while I still had the original 16"s on. I know why youre asking this mate - and theyre talking rubbish!!

17s 100mm drop front 110mm rear (my driveshafts sometie hit the chassis legs!!!)

car go through wheel bearing a bit quicker, but fine

I had 17s on me valver and had to take em off as they damaged an engine mount adn wheel baring....... Damn annoying coz she looked sweet with them on! SO just because people havent had problems with them yet - it dont mean that they wont!

Ive got 18" with 75mm wheel spacers on the back and 35mm spacers on the front and no problems other than wheel bearings. Sorry to steal the thread but has any one got 18" with no power steering? Just want to know if its too heavy?

think all 16v/williams had power steering - yours is an RT isnt it with williams engine / interior - exterior ?

No i mean 75 mm spacers, not ideal i know. Yeah it did start as an RT just didnt want to have to fit the power steering but worried the stering might be too heavy.
