Erm, just under £2k for all that iirc, not bad considering that alone the 80-200 2.8 AF-S and 300mm f4 easily cost that between them. I've actually spent around £1200 though, as the P-3000 was won and another unwanted prize financed the 80-200.

Utter lens p**n......the cameras aren't bad either!

I am also curious about the tape, is it for camouflage when hiding in bushes outside celeb hang outs?

  Mr2 Roadster
Tape, firstly darkens the exterior of the lens when it's used. The white shows up when you use the lens' in the car really badly and on the street of course.

Also, my gear is heavily used and often get's a few love taps whilst it rolling around in the footwells or hastily shoved in a bad, so it's protected a bit from chipping and scratches, which helps at trade in time.

Does it pay well?

Used to but as you can see the investment isn't small. But in answer this is the slowest year yet for most paps.

Brown.

extreme setup for extreme passion^^^ its like these people who add daft little bits, air filters/ exhausts/ stickers to there car....makes f**k all difference to the speed or performance.....but keeps some ones passion for somet alive!!!..... i know of a few non pro photogrpahers with ipaps setup...purely for the passion of photography....in other words pissing rights....oh and more money then sense :D

Do some of you lot get paid for photography or something? Extreme setup for normal use lol!

Depends what you like spending money on I guess, my £2k worth of stuff isn't extreme, but some people think that's a lot to spend. At the end of the day I don't drink or smoke so I 'save' a fortune in that respect, and I run a £1500 car, where some members here would spend that on insurance or a few extra bhp!

I get what you are saying though, I've seen some people on forums with a D2Xs and several £1k+ lens, and their photos are awful. I did an evening course once several years ago and a a guy got out his 1D, his flash-gun (still wrapped up) and didn't even know where to fit it on his camera. That I can't see the point in, there really is no benefit to starting off with high-level equipment (regardless of how much money you've got) as it will make things more confusing and highlight any deficiencies in your technique/ability ten-fold.

Round that. Over the years you just end up collecting more and more! I picked up the 70-200 last year second hand and the 30 f1.4 also for nearly half price second hand. Both are as good as new. I keep an eye on adverts for bargains then it is hard to keep you wallet in your pocket!

How do you find the 5D? I deliberately did not try one out when I was looking for a new camera as I knew I would want one. It was slightly out of my budget. :D
