Pot Holes

  Black 182
Hit a big pot hole yesterday, was about foot wide and about 15cm deep, anyway its made a massive bulge on the side wall of my tyre, is it worth following it up via council or just buy new tyre and have a wee on next council van i see :)

Have a wee search. Somebody posted up a link to a site that guided you through claiming in another pot hole thread maybe last week.

A52 heading out of Derby perhaps? its currently all kinds of s**t. Daily i have to play "dodge the fail" and weave around the many holes.

Try claiming but in order to do that you need to revisit said pothole and take pictures with a ruler measuring the depth, width etc

When I had my S2 RST it was quite low on Koni adjustables with Escort Cosworth 16x8's.

I hit a pot hole which fucked the tyre, wheel amd shock asorber... Council did FA due to the pot hole not being reported before hand.

I think the pot hole has to be reported, then they've got 28 days to repair it, after that period you can then make a claim... but how honest are they on when they first received a complaint!? It's quite easy for the lazy cnut on the end of the phone to say... oh that's the first we're hearing of that pot hole just because they CBA to fill out the paper work!!!

What should be done is the council set up a Google Maps type program where you can tag pictures of potholes so they get fixed...

But that will never happen :dapprove:

I see what you mean, it is bad, should really be sorted on there as well with it bein one of the busy roads in derby.

I've made a successful claim for a similiar situation that occured a few years ago. Take a picture of the pothole ASAP include a ruler or tape measure in shot to illustrate how deep and wide the pothole is. Also take some pictures of the damage to your car.

Contact your local council and lodge a complaint with the highways department. You can do this by phone but follow it up with a letter. Also get the name of the person you speak to and quote it in your correspondance.

Get your car repaired and send copies of the invoices to the highways department and demand that they compensate you.

Any problems send me a PM

That is quite a good idea, build up a map of your local area, then set up a facebook group for your area and get everyone to bombard the council with emails and letters.

They wouldnt pay out for this^ wasnt worth the hassle in the end seeing as its only £10 for a new steel. Also cracked my windscreen due to a pothole on the M25.
