Powdercoated turinis What shade of anthracite dark or light on black car?

  Black Sheep
Bought these of flea bay after some suspicious bidding and being offered the alloys an hour later via email "cause the buyer was mucking them about" after an hour yeah right the buyer also had 0 feedback. Lucky I wasnt an eager beaver giving up my bid at £163.84 when I smelt a rat and funny enough the winning bid was £168.84 or could that be one of those auto bids? . Anyway who cares a twenty mile trip across the bridge with £150 and the deal was done. Two brand new budjet tyres and two bald ones. The alloys have no heavy kerbing if any really just bubbled and flaking paint.

I am going to get them shot blasted and powder coated in anthracite to put on my black ph 2 172 but I am unsure if I should go for a light shade or a dark shade? any ideas or pics of this being done?

It's your choice but I would personally go with silver..... I much prefer Silver wheels on Black cars nowadays and it s much more rewarding cleaning them and getting them gleaming again... I have Anthra and the Girlfreind has Silver.

I know I was thinking this today when I cleaned one of the good ones up today its going to be a very hard choice:S

light on a dark car imho

think cars need the contrast between the wheels and body

The silver looks great! I saw these on ebay the seller was useless they couldn't tell me what tyres were on them and took forever to send the pictures across to me of all 4 wheels.

Cheers for the input guys as much as silver would look mint IWent for anthracite after shelling out £150 on the turinis and about £260 on the refurb and the tyres I wanted something that would be a big change to the silver alloys I have had over the years.

pics to be posted.

Nice colour! did they give you a paint code? you just need your bullets respraying to match now .......shameless plug!

lol;) They are powder coated mate. I might be wrong but when I think it comes to powder coating there is an industry standard range of colours and there is only one anthracite shade on the chart when I looked on google:S

really nice mate! i like the pic with the silver though tbh

yeah I know silver looks mint to and I was really close to going that way, I just wanted something differant after forking out £400 since I am going to get my standard once done back to silver also.

Mines been powder coated in Aston Martin sparkling graphite :)

Yeah I did not think that would be the case just some crap I found on google when I was a bit worried a what shade they would be when done. The reason being when I was in the shop the only example they had of the anthracite they done were these MASSIVE 4X4 alloys they had done and it just didnt look like what I wanted under the strong lights. They turned out just the shade I wanted though luckily.

Surely they must have sprayed the center caps? as they would melt?

Such a close call but good choice, I like those cheeky Renault valve caps too.

Thanks the dust caps are only a fiver on ebay, good quality nice and heavy with the badge set in resin. They are anti theft cause they have a tiny allen key grub screw!

I bid on these too but wasn't being suspicious as far as I know.

They look very nice in the dark anthracite and that's exactly what I would have done.

Centre caps have to be sprayed not powder coated.
