Power Barge meets the Clios

Went out the other night for a bit of a drive and some photo's with Jon.G and my mate who has a rather tasty M5. He's just had a complete engine rebuild, to say it shifts is an understatement!

Nice pics as always m8 :)

What was the reason for the engine rebuild if you know??

Nice pics mate. That's my mate's old RB :) lives across the road from me.

Yeah Jon told me about that, seemed a nice lad!

The VANOS had completely gone, amongst other things tbh, spent quite a bit putting it right, but it certainly seems worth it!

Is that a cup with headlight washers, or a ff with stripes?

Its a FF with stripes

So he had the TWIN vanos fixed? Thats not an engine rebuild lol ... just probably cost the same as an engine rebuild ;)

Good pics btw, i've had an RB & a Trophy, so nice to see some clean pics of them.

Strictly speaking no its not, but it wasnt just the vanos that needed doing, there was a lot of work he had done.

Jon, shush moaning, it was more because I didn't know if Oli wanted his plate putting on the web, I had to done all or none, so all it was!

Cheers for the invite guys.

Oli had alot of work done on the car - £2500 worth to be exact, by Mr. Vanos.

He had the Vanos sorted, big end bearings replaced, some new hydraulic lifters and few other bits and bobs including a new water pump (which was £400 for the part alone) - not a complete engine rebuild but a lot of work!

Pick that bone with Oli, I don't have your number!

There's a meet on at KK's on the 20th, will be a good one from the looks of it. Oli was telling me about the planned future of your BG, that true?

He told me to pick that bone with you. I think he just never thought about me (typical)

And yes, with it being a previous Cat D I can't see me getting much more than £2k for it as a whole. Whereas I think I will get a lot more for it in bits. Going to look at a TT this weekend actually. If I buy it I will more than likely be stripping the Clio.

Also did he tell you about my water problems... I had a wet floor. So had all the interior out at the weekend. Finally got it all dry, found the problem to be under the front wiper motor. There is a bung with a pipe running down to the bottom of the car to release the water that collects under there during rain. It was blocked and water was collecting and then finding its way into the cabin behind the dash.

No 225 1.8T, after my B5 S4 I crave Quattro Turbo power again! They are very cheap as well I'm looking to spend around the 4000 mark on one.

To be honest I just fancy a change, the Clio's great, never let me down in 10,000 miles and it did the 3000 miles round Europe in 2 weeks this summer without a problem as well. Had the Clio for 15 months now (longest i've owned a car) i'm just getting itchy feet. Although I am attempting to find myself a house but I don't think the change will be too much cost wise.

Fair play mate, yeah that's not bad, get a lot of car for the money. Is there no potential for it to make like your S4 and go pop? or will £4000 get a good one? not something I know a lot about when it comes to Audis!
