If only it was that easy mate, but unfortunately companies like superchips exist and can charge what they do is because it easiest a quick fix. Anything that claims to make a 10-20bhp increase for £10 is bull, and frankly i wouldn't dare even 'plugging' that thing into my ECU.
Basically it's just a resistor that plugs into the air temp sensor. This makes the ECU think the airs colder (more dense), so chucks more fuel into it.
I have a similar thing on mine i made myself with a switch and whatever, basically when i turn it on the air temp goes down by 14 degress. The only thing i really notice is the flames out the back, so wouldn't bother really.
