was very very immpressed at how well the kit was made and how light it all is, as said in his ebay advert will save 16kg and around a kg in rotating mass...good times :approve:

So got the car booked in on a wedensday and drove off in his amazing courtesy car...1.0L Micra

picked the car up on Friday and drove it home :approve::approve::approve:

was very very immpressed at how much the revs seemed to pick up, car now feels so much more urgent through the whole rev range, and the loss of weight from front of the car has made a difference also

so much easier to change the aux belt now

here are some of the kit fitted to my ph 1

overall very impressed with the kit, and the service provided by nick top bloke and really knows his beans, have a look at some of the kit he has/is developing for his race car

in all very very happy with the kit and would recommend it if your looking at de-airconing your clio much easier than trying to hunt down a cup altenator and parts and it dont half look bad either

cheers nick

Just don't like how "exposed" the belt is. Probably just me and the way it looks. Obv won't cause any problems just look to open :)

think I'll still buy a kit tho :) Should still fit with ITB's the same I imagine, as the lower mount is below the inlet?

Cool, hope you get it sorted, just noticed that's not the ITB car - that was the one I was referring to - do you still have it?

can pop over your way ben if you want a closer look as pass your way most weekends

i never had an itb car tom......i very very nearly did, put a substantial deposit down on here for someone selling jenveys, then he pulled out and refunded my deposit .....pants

Oh ok, my memory playing up. Is that the 421/Omex car that was at last SRR? Had a chance to get it rolled again?

Oooooo i like that a lot. The kit is quite expensive though £350 :(

But i suppose good parts dont come cheap.

Have you used the standard rack?

...this looks a fine kit ! really worth the trouble ?
i 've heard that by changing the pulleys you rev. easier but this causes vibration to the crank etc and maybe this will be dangerous for the engine!
sure is that this needs a balance with crank, flywheel etc...

I just got this kit fitted a few days ago, seems a great bit of kit, and the garage who fitted it said it was a good bit of kit as well :)

Why does the kit replace the crank pulley? Is it for cosmetic reasons or because its lightweight does it have a advantage over the OE Renault item?

Looks a good bit of kit. 16kg's is a fair old chunk of weight

ive removed the a/c from my ph1, used all the parts off a clio cup. Noticed a difference, seemed to rev up better.
I bought a clio cup heater motor aswel though, so all the a/c was removed in the bulk head aswel.

can someone tell me why they supply cam seals/caps with the kit? changing the crank pulley you don't need to touch the cam seals?

crank pin in, buzz off the crank bolt, swap pulley screw bolt back on, done? or am i being dumb (says the trader that should know the answer, yes i've had a beer or 6)

It says on their fitting guide cams and crank need to be locked to change the crank pulley and bolt or the timing will be lost. Replacment cam seals as you'll need to take the original caps off for the Renault locking tool thing.

actually thinking about it now, yes the cams need to be locked as when you angle tighten the crank bolt, if the cams aren't locked they could be pulled round

Come on Fred - wakey wakey!
As for crank bolt, the original is fine as long at it hasn't stretched to beyond 49.1mm if I remember correctly.
