As i'm new on here Just thought i'd put a few pics up of the 182 I purchsed today.

2 Previous keepers 44,000 on clock having a few bits done before picking up next week including;

2 x new rear tyres
Rear brake pads

The garage I brought it from had seven people waiting to buy it and one bloke even waited in the waiting room incase I didn't want it.

Only rubbish bits are missing plastic engine cover and only ONE key arghhhhhhhh.
I'm impressed with it got for a steal too £5295 ( well I think I did well).

The only thing is can't fathem out how to use the cruise control or get mpg up etc.

They really do handle like they are on rails the reviews are true just point it and the car goes for it.
Oh yeah and one more thing Honda civic type R's.............. 'Let me at em'.

Nice mate!

There's a switch down to your right somewhere IIRC for the cruise control?

And the MPG etc there should be two little buttons on the end of your wiper stalk, to access the trip computer?

Thanks people put a thread up on the problems and faults part to answer the cruise and multifuction bits, hope it might help another dummy out just like me.

Make sure he's got the correct timing tool. Looks nice, fair price given the belts haven't been done.

Switch the cruise control on, (green light comes on) then drive to desired speed, then press "R", job done.

Nice buy mate. Pretty similer to my purchase apart from it had about 56,000 miles on it and had the belts done. So seems like a good price.

PS. Where about's in Kent are you fella?

sorry mate, i think you paid well too much for that, did you check the book price, its 04, so its now 5 yrs old, and you paid over 5k !!! i think you paid 1k too much for that especially without the cambelt change. looks clean though.

Yes i did check out the book price and i payed below it as the guy at the garage brought it in for £4700 but still retails at £5695 with 56k on the clock so i reckon I got it about right plus i have about 6k of driving to do before belts need doing and luckily enough I get 40% off all parts at a local parts department.

if he didn't want opionions why post a thread ? and i did say it looks clean :rasp:

Don't forget these online guides don't include the current uk recession and the fact the car hasn't had a cambelt change, is missing a key, is missing the engine cover. and the typical dealer quote "ive got other people wanting to buy this"
the fact its missing the engine cover is pretty obvious it has had someone modding it before.

Obviously this guy has seen the car and is happy with it and its in his budget, so good for him, shame on you for slating what other peoples opinions :nono:

To be honest I didnt come on here to start a forum rumble so i'll apolagise now if I have.
Just wanted to show a few pics of my ren then see what people reckon even constructive criticism is useful, but this will be my daily driver (my RS being my first love), plus a track day or two maybe.
I dont know a great deal about them apart from their great track day reputation i still hope to gather as much info and help from other members regarding it as possible as 'knowledge is power' and all that.

Back on topic, not the worst price I've seen and at you must have been happy with the price and are aware of the belts so didn't jump in with your eyes closed - enjoy!

And the Escort is very tidy.

Good price mate if it is in a good condition.

Mine cost £6000 with both belts done and 32,000 miles a couple of months ago.
