Puxie My 182

Hi all, i recently brought a 182 and i have done a few minor things to it, but im getting the bug and dont want to stop :)

Currently, custom induction kit, KTR splitter, Boot Glows blue now, Mirror Finish battery cover (that i made myself :D).

Next up ive got her booked in for a new KTR exhaust, and later on in the year il be running Boost if all goes as planned.

Not much yet but im hoping to make her look as good as new and maybe even better, tomorrow il be trying to polish up the Injector Rail Cover, if that goes well then il try it on the Intake Manifold.

No pics of the bay as it looks like a dirty Engine bay... :(

Shes got a few scratches here and there and previous owner had a slight scrape on the front corner, but nothing i cant fix, not bad condition for 90kmiles.

Should get round to fitting the battery cover soon, once ive got the bracket for it powder coated.

Spent about4 hours on it this morning, needs about another 20 or so to get it looking real good, next up after this will be Inlets/Manifold.

Fitted battery cover finally. Inector cover is polished up now but needs fitting, just got another Inlet Manifold so i can polish it up then swap it over once i have put a fair few hours into it.

i didnt fit it, was lazy and got k-tec to do it for me, but didnt take them long to fit it, and they had to replace all the mounts too because mine were nakered

More patience then me, that's for sure!

Hmm yeah i dont have much either, i started on the manifold but decided to get it done buy a professional because the casting pattern is quite deep into it and needs sand blasting realy. Also would like a better finish than i got on the injector cover.

Various different Grit sandpapers from 80-2500 grit then a big mounted polishing mop and polishing soap
I think it took be about 12-13 hours all together, not bad for my 1st bit of real polishing up :)

If you don't mind me asking, what was the total price of the exhaust system with fitting by KTEC?

Thanks..

Cheers, yes slow atm, i have the manifold off being polished atm and few other bits here and there to do, then will be dead thread for a while as il be saving hard for the boost!!!
Looking forward to finally owning a turbo, 250bhp is my Aim for this car, then next on the list is a LSD, paddle clutch, forged internals, then high boost turbo, will take prolly 5 or 6 years to get to high boost stage, but plan to keep her for the rest of her life so good investment i think and im not interested in resale value thankfully. :)

Just got home from picking this up after a good polish, i must say i am impressed with it and it only took 2 hours! :)

Will have it in the bay pretty soon i hope aswell as the Fuel rail Guard. Cooksports also going to be ordered when in stock, and a new style RS badge too.

Just a small update, Ali foot rest, Polished Top mount covers, and a new style RS badge from M.A.D. Also Cooksports arrived today, should have them fitted soon, but failed Mot on emissions :( so my money has to go on sorting that over modifications atm, once thats sorted back to saving for the next mod :)

Finally got my cooksports and had them fitted today, am very happy with them, the car feels alot better than it did on the old springs. Just been out for a spin and basically to see if i would smash my splitter on the speed bumps, and thankfully it doesnt catch the local speedbump riddled roads. I just ordered a Fabia splitter so when the inevitable happens i can stuff that cheap thing on and not worry. However the centre exhaust section does catch when i come off the driveway but not reversing on oddly.

Now its lower i see that it definatly needs some spacers, so that will be the next purchase i do beleive. Doesnt look much of a drop but it is actually 30mm on the rear and 25mm on the front as ive measured it, i was a bit skeptical about how much it would acutally drop by, but its nice i think :)

Managed to get the Bay finished recently, got the manifold on, fuel rail guard on, fixed the exhaust leak from the cat to mid pipe, and got the engine cover painted up, need to remove the bonnet lining as its rubbing on the cover :/
Noticed it has an almsot new damper on the rear and old origional on the other side, so when money allows i shall replace them both.

Next up, well not sure, need something to keep me occupied until i go for the plunge of ITBs or LBT.

Update time again, this time something actually worth doing. Went down to 519 last week to get some new cams, and they are the best £1154 ive spent on this car tbh, altho the peak figures arnt exactally high the car has improved alot from the increase in torque across the range and i dont have to rag the tits off it for power.
Also there has been a valued lesson learned, polished engine parts may look nice im my view anyways, but they draw way to much heat, when it was on the dyno it had 3 fans and a soaking wet towel on the inlets to try to cool it and they were still to hot to touch, needless to say the old manifold has been painted matt black and will be swapped this week sometime, and the induction pipe will also be painted black.

And when i was a CSS i got some new bullets, had been thinking about it for a while and as they were cheaper and right infront of me i thought il get some, personally think they look much better than the old ones :)

Shocks, bushes, mounts are all next ready for track days, and some spacers up next i think too, then some hard saving for throttle bodies.

Been a while since i posted here, ive stopped messing about with most silly bits and bobs.

Had New shocks all round and brakes fitted at the start of the year, just got a new cat for the Mot then sorting a decat out.

Then i got theese goodies!

Thats the new seats fitted and carpet in the back sorted so it looks tidy, not very practical as ive discovered but who cares.

Oh and a nice bit of vinyl i put on the back bumper. Not to all people taste but i like it. Oh and some carbon dipped or wrapped not sure mirror covers from Dan Mallets garage of many parts.

Next up tomorrow im fitting the new cat and making the old cat into a decat, ARB is on the list next.

Now all thats left is to get some track time in!

Thanks to Dan, Ben and Steve for the help sorting the blasted rear seats out and the bbq :)
