Quick tv/xbox/speaker question

Cut a long story short got a HD ready TV for spare room but doesn't have an audio out, I want to connect my xbox and Pc speakers to it.

So what I am thinking, and wanting someone to confirm, If I use the Xbox HD composite lead rather than HDMI, and instead of putting the red and white connectors from the lead into the back of the TV, use lead 1, and connect this to the AUX input on the PC speakers.

Would this work? Hopefully I have explained enough haha.

If the OP already has the component cable then his method would be cheaper and easier.
