Quick Vauxhall corsa 1.3l diesel question (battery life)

  Milltek'd clio 182
currently the alternator has gone completley so the car is just running from the battery, can someone give me a rough estimate on how many miles it could cover before the battery dies out from full charge.

thanks peepz

I have an Astra H on my books that's owned by a Belgian with this engine in and two weeks out of its warranty his alternator died (Which surprised me). Vauxhall wanted just shy of £430 for a new one to.

To answer your question, there's no black and white answer I'm afraid but I'd expect a quality battery to last a good 3years.

Just realised I'm a t**t and didn't understand the question...

At night it won't last long as you'll have lights on. You can make it last longer by turning off anything electrical not needed; heaters, stereo, etc

My Clio managed about 5 miles before I had a dash full of warning lights.

My e34 managed 20miles and kept going fine.

I never pushed either further than they had to go.

I had an alfa 147 1.6 petrol with a duff alternator. We fitted a brand new battery and drove it home and it lasted about 22 miles before it died. I know this because the journey is 23 miles and we failed by about a mile. :(

(during the day, no fans on, no indicators etc etc)
