A long story to this but will cut short, i bought the RB off Christopher back in March with 2nd gear synchro gone and a missfire. A 500 mile round trip to Bolton with a stop at BTM to pick up another gearbox and it's back at home. A good friend of mine Matt who rns Codered Motorsport was 1st choice to swap over gearboxes soon after, but due to very unfortunate personal circumstances he was not able to be on hand to do the job. Last week i made a phone call to have someone else do the swap so the RB was trailored to Upminster in Essex.. Gearbox done.
In between all this it's had a missfire, not having fault code readers and not having the chance to get it anywhere its sat on the driveway along with me changing bits over everynow and then. Thankfully Matt is back on hand to diagnose the missfire fault with the Renault CLIP system, its showing the post cat sensor and sure enough when under the car you could see why. As the car is sitting so low it seems like something's snagged the lambda sensor wire and ripped it out of the connector, to get it running the sensor has been temporarily hard wired. At a later date another connector will be soldered in place which will give me 2 lambda sensors the same length so i don't need a long cabled item.
Anyway, it's finally back on the road with a nice to-do list on Renault parts that will be fitted over the next 2-3 weeks. £30 worth of V Power today with the tyres pumped up and i'm 1 happy person, sounds well with the Milltek exhaust and certainly goes well.
Amazing piece of kit the CLIP, you can read so much data on it
