Met up with my mate last night who has recently had a Honda EK9 imported from Japan for a few pics in the dark. Hope you like them, a couple of shots :)

both look great, any info on the import?

Too be honest mate I don't know much about it. He got it imported by a guy who deals with importing JDM spec Hondas down in Reading I think. My mate requested a minter and thats what he got, for a 10 year old car it is immaculate, a couple of curb marks on the alloys but they are getting refurbed soon apart from that it is mint.

I drove and viewed one a week ago, made me more keen than ever to get one. Sadly the example I looked at was a bit rough around the edges so I walked away from that particular car.

Awesome car.

His brother is getting a JDM Teg DC5 in champ/White and my cousin is getting a JDM EP3 Type R in Champ/White, so watch this space for some shots...

does he realise he has 2 different headlights?
drivers side appears to be a two piece whereas the passenger side is 1 piece?

Headlamps will both be one piece. Looks as though the one on the left may have a yellow bulb in it or someone has been playing around with the reflector in the lamp to change the colour. Or it could just be a trick of the lighting.

My Mate had an EK9 and to be fair for a 1.6 it was so impressive! Especially when the V-tech kicked in! + Reved to 10500rpm!! He wasn't sure if it had been modded but I don't think it was suppose to rev this much, but it did!

If he was doing that on the standard internals, it won't be liking it.

Spoon sell a 'Block Brace' kit which allows those RPM's. But doing it with standard internals is risking the engine.

Yup, 10,5000 stock? You're living in dreamland it's a v-tec not a f**king motorbike.

Not a square bulb you clownshoe. The reflector could appear the same colour as the bulb as a result of guess what.... yes reflected light. On a Clio forum you must have seen that look on enough cars on here without silvervisions fitted. ;)

rev limit is 8900k standard. Revving it to 10500 is certainly not recommended. Very few ek9's exist that have the spoon gridle (block brace) to strengthen the cranckshaft past 9500 rpm installed allowing it to rev to 11000rpm. I think your mates car possibly had the limiter removed allowing it to rev to to 10500rpm but i dont know why you would want to anyway as it can damage the engine as said previously

Both cars looking nice. The ek9 looks very clean, my brother had a high spec yellow ek9 type rx for 4 years so i know what great little machines they are.

I think you will find it is the lighting, which is making it look like he has two different headlights. On shots of it in daylight the lights look identical.

Another shot of the driveway after they had been cleaned...

And one of the FRS... shame the sun wasn't out

I appreciate the power that the EK puts out... But its just a fanboys dream in the shape of a grandma's car. Rather have an EP3, but that only if i had no choice but to buy a honda.
