RB182: Before the BANG - Supercharger content

i had an arguement with someone once who reckoned the crank pulley bolt isn't a stech bolt, O'rly, that's why it states in the renault workshop manual to measure the f**king thing!

i always fit new ones when doing cambelts

its suprising how few people are aware of this and dont change them tbh

Another day, another thing learnt.

Is this how Renault make their money, by failing to put the actual required parts into a kit, letting it fail, then charging customers the repair bill?

  Lionel Richie
no, as they state in their workshop manual "if the length under the head of the bolt exceeds 49.1mm then replace the bolt" (that's off the top of my head, so isn't word for word accurate)

if the garage/person are stupid enough to not measure the thing and ignorant enough to state "its not a strech bolt" when it clearly states it is, its hardly Renaults fault is it!!

Cheers for all the kind words lads!

I will be carrying on with it and getting it up and running again, in too deep to back out now i guess... Sure it will be worth it in the end :)

Argh, what a nightmare!! Especially for it to blow whilst mapping :dapprove:

Clio's are now surely getting to the 306 Gti6 levels of fail when it comes to cambelts & the importance of having it changed by a good specialist!! Bad times.

Shame its happened. As some have indicated it may fuel the reliability rumour mill, but would be good to get it back running as alot of coin invested and lets face it a clio with circa 250bhp is bound to be a good hoot.

:D
