Rear Brake pad clip....

Managed to loose one of these while changing the rear pads the other day. No chance of finding it as it pinged off at high velocity into some trees. Just wondering how essential these are as they seem pretty weak at holding the pads in place and the pad seems secure enough.

Renault will only sell them as part of a kit worth £40 !!

Do i really need to get it replaced?
