Rear lights, what bulb is meant to do what.

Had a gander at my rear lights earlier as im seeing what all the fuss is about with friends saying their tw*tted etc.

Now at current their working like this, ill work from the top bulb down.

Passenger side

1. Nothing
2. Indicator
3.Reverse
4. Lights + Goes brighter for brake

Drivers side

1. Fog
2. Indicator
2. Reverse
4. Lights + Goes brighter for brake

What im wondering is if this is correct for PH2 rear lights. There is a bulb in the passenger side top slot also, that seems to do nothing which seems very pointless to me so I assume their meant to be brake lights at the bottom are only meant to be fog lights?

The top two are both fogs, but on 99% of cars, only 1 side works. Don't ask me why.

So, yours are in correct working order.

Ohh, thought the french would have been stingy and only provided me with one bulb if that was the case. Thanks, also when the indicators are on the fog light dims slightly and then goes brighter again when the indicator isnt flashing, will this fail the MOT as all the connections are basically brand new.

Not sure if it'll be an MOT fail, depends on the tester/how much it's interfering at a guess. They all seem to do it though, both my Clios have done it.

MOT only needs a fog light at the rear on the offside. Any others are irrelavant.
